A young Christian lady was asked how was she doing and what was going on Spiritually? I wanted to know was she hearing from God? Her response was she just came through a divorce and feeling free and the glory of God upon her, but due to so much distraction, she could not answer the question whether God had spoke to her or not. She really felt He had not. I responded by saying if He did, is it possible you missed Him? She thought about it.
Because we are distracted does not mean God stops talking, or suspends the actions necessary for our revelation and vision. As a matter of fact, I believe God really challenges us to walk out our destiny and purpose by focusing on Him during this times.
Often times we can become consumed with distraction, or spend too much time avoiding them instead of facing them head on. We can not afford to miss Him and delay the actions. For those of us that know the vision, seen the revelation of God for our lives, making an excuse to delay because of distractions I believe would not be acceptable.
Vision: A Revelation Without Action Fades (Ezekiel 12:1-28)
God told Ezekiel to pack up his belongings and symbolically act out the exile awaiting the Jews, once again using creative means to communicate vision.
In Ezekiel 12:21-28 God speaks of the powerlessness of vision unless someone puts feet to them. Visions lose their strength without action to support them. Good leaders always share both the vision and the steps to its implementation.
Yet the first step always must be to catch the God-given vision. Consider one process to go through as you attempt to catch God’s vision for the people:
1. Look within you: What do you feel?
2. Look behind you: What have you learned?
3. Look around you: What is happening to others?
4. Look ahead of you: What is the big picture?
5. Look above you: What does God expect of you?
6. Look beside you: What resources are available to you?
